Transport during the Karlovy Vary Film Festival
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival brings thousands of visitors to town in late June or early July each year. The centre gets crowded on festival days and getting around becomes more complicated — a private transfer booked in advance takes the stress out of it.
Hotel Thermal and the colonnade area
Hotel Thermal is the festival's main venue, and surrounding streets are often closed to regular traffic during screenings and award ceremonies. We arrange drivers well in advance and agree on an alternative pickup point if needed.
From the airport to the festival
Many festival visitors fly into Václav Havel Airport in Prague. The transfer to Karlovy Vary takes about one hour forty minutes — during the main festival days we recommend booking ahead, as availability is limited.
Getting around town during the festival
Even a short ride from your hotel to a screening can take longer than usual during the festival because of road closures and heavy traffic. Build in extra time and arrange pickup earlier than you normally would.
